Multi Activity Adventure
In the beautiful region surrounding the village of Taivalkoski just south of the Artic Cricle an opporturnity to take part a host of exhilarating winter activities. The region attracts guests from all over the world. Accommodation in the modern but cosy Herkko Hotel. Activities are in small groups, a maximum of six people with excellent friendly guides.

Multi Activity Adventure itinerary
Day 1
Transfer from the airport to the Hotel Herkko. Dinner with the guide, Enjoy a relaxing swim and sauna in the hotel.
Day 2.
Transfer to the nearby Finn-Jann Husky farm. The whole day will be spent at the farm starting with an introduction to the huskies, and husky driving. Following training by the husky guides on how to handle a husky sled it is time to head off on a training loop. Two persons share one team for an easy beginning.
Following lunch visit a local reindeer farm to learn more about reindeer husbandry.
Return to Hotel Herkko. Free time for a sauna, swim and dinner in hotel.
Day 3.
A snowmobile safari through the wilderness, driving a distance of approx. 50-60 km. Lunch will be served during the tour. 2 person/snowmobile per snowmobile. The possibility to drive alone for a supplement of £25. In the evening sauna and farewell dinner with the guides.
Day 4.
Transfer to the husky farm. Preparation for the 2 days husky tour to an old forest guardians cabin. Lunch around an open fire. Once at the cabin everyone will help the guide with dog care, preparing the sauna and cabin heating. Dinner, a traditional sauna and ice hole swimming in the evening. Overnight in the cabin. During the tour there is also an opportunity for ice fishing.
Day 5.
After breakfast continue on the husky tour. Lunch around the fire. In the afternoon return to the husky farm. Dog caring with the guides. Coffee in the farm and transfer back to the hotel for dinner.
Day 6.
Following breakfast a day at leisure. The energetic may with to visit the downhill ski slopes at the nearby skiing centre (500m from the hotel), or book additional snowmobile tours. Alternatively you can just relax in the peaceful surroundings of the hotel. Sauna and dinner in the hotel.
Day 7.
Winter sports in the Taivalkoski area. In the morning snowshoeing and in the afternoon don cross-country skis and follow the local trails. In the evening a farewell dinner with your guide and new friends.
Day 8.
Breakfast and transfer to the airport.
The order of the daily program may change. All activites are subject to weather.

Hotel Herkko
This 3 star-hotel offers cosy and modern accommodation with private facilities. The hotel has an excellent restaurant, bar, swimming pool and sauna. It is located on the edge of Taivalkoski beside a small downhill skiing center, a ski jumping tower and the trailheads for cross country skiing, snowmobiling, winter hiking and much more. The village is just a short walk away.
