Rovaniemi, located in southern Lapland on the Arctic circle, is the capital of Finnish Lapland and the centre of the province’s trade and commerce.
Rovaniemi offers visitors an excellent choice of well organised safaris throughout the year and a number of tourist attractions, good shopping and restaurants, as well as a lively nightlife. A must while in Rovaniemi is a visit to the Arktikum House Centre overlooking the Ounasjoki River with it’s permanent exhibition about Arctic nature and its people. The Centre also has a number of seasonal exhibitions.
Rovaniemi most famous resident is of course Santa Claus who can be found throughout the year at the Arctic Circle Village. You will also find a range of gift shops and a special post office at the village. The town offers limited downhill skiing just 10 minutes from the city centre on Ounasvaara fell.

While ideal for all visitors we particularly recommend the hotel for families during the winter as children enjoy the easy access to the snow and toboggan slopes. All 69 rooms within the hotel have private facilities, TV, minibar and hair dryer.
