Saariselka, Hotel Riekonlinna

Located in the far north of Finnish Lapland, 250km above the Arctic Circle, Saariselka is a small resort, with a handful of hotels and private cabins, literally in the middle of nature. It enjoys wonderful views across surrounding fells and easy access to the forest trails, whether it be for hiking, skiing or safaris. The resort is home to, with in a gentle walk from all our hotels, a tiny, simple chapel, a few gift shops, a supermarket, spa swimming pool (located in Hotel Holiday club) and at the edge of the resort is an excellent toboggan slope. A ski bus runs several times a day between the hotels and nearby slopes. If you are going to see the Aurora Borealis anywhere in the world it is here and where better to experience the midnight sun.

Hotel Riekonlinna

Hotel Riekonlinna is a firm favourite with our clients, many returning year after year. It offers an excellent standard of accommodation and warm, friendly service. The hotel is set in the edge of the resort of Saariselka offering views across the forest and beautiful fells. After a day of activity you can relax in the cosy fireside bar followed by dinner in the hotels popular restaurant. Other hotel facilities include a small gym, saunas, business centre and children's playroom. The toboggan slope, pretty chapel, shops and safari office are within a few minutes walk and a bus runs between the resort and ski slopes several times a day.

Twin, 1-2 people:	2 single beds or upon request can be set up as a double
Sauna Twin, 1-2 people :	2 single beds or upon request can be set up as a double. Sauna.
Triples, 2-4 people:	2 single beds and a 120cm wide sofa bed.
Connectiing rooms, 4-6 people:	include a twin and triple room with interconnecting door. (Supplements apply)
All rooms have shower, wc, balcony, mini-bar, TV, phone and drying cupboard.

Important Information regarding flights

The prices shown throughout the Lapland part of our website represent the cost of the ground arrangements only, to this you will have to add the airfare from wherever you wish to depart from.

Previously our prices have included the air fare content of the “package” however recent changes in the way airlines sell their air seats means that air fares and taxes have become more susceptible to change and therefore do not remain at the same constant level throughout the validity of the programmes on offer.

Therefore the earlier you book the better chance you will have to obtain the best possible air fare.

When you have decided on your ground arrangement, please call us and we will endeavour to find the lowest airfare possible. To obtain the lowest fares airlines now require early booking and full payment for the flights at the time of booking, full payment for the flights will be in addition to the £100* deposit required for the ground arrangements.

* Full payment is required if booked within 8 weeks of departure

Optional Winter Escorted Safaris

Our safaris are arranged by our long time partner, Lapland Safaris, who have an office in the centre of the resort. They offer an exciting range of snowmobile, husky and reindeer safaris throughout the winter.

Their knowledgeable guides will allow you to make the most of the beautiful location and the Lappish nature.

They will pick you up from your hotel 15 minutes prior to your safari.

Snowmobile safaris are based on two adults per snowmobile. Supplements for one person available upon request. Children travel in snowmobile pulled sleighs. Children under 15 receive a 50% discount (25% in December) on the adult price.

Clients are responsible for the first €505 if a snowmobile is damaged.
