Saariselkä New Year. A flexible programme for all ages 
After all the over indulgence of the Festive Season what better way to see in the New Year than in a wonderful winter setting, surrounded by clean air and taking part in exhilarating activities. We have included a couple of days of activity and left others free so you can set the pace whether that be action packed or just taking in the views over coffee in the fell top café.
Saariselkä is an ideal resort for all ages, with a diverse range of winter safaris, skiing, toboggan slopes and a swimming pool that will appeal to all ages. Evenings can be spent exploring the resorts restaurants, visiting the bars or taking forest walks in search of the Northern Lights.

Hotel Riekonlinna
This pretty hotel is located in the centre of the picturesque winter resort of Saariselkä, within easy reach of the resorts many amenities including the nearby toboggan slope. Hotel Riekonlinna has a popular fireside bar in which to relax after an exciting day and restaurants including Emagine's private dinner restaurant. Facilities include saunas, a small childrens play area with ball pool, a masseur and free toboggans. Throughout the many years of featuring this hotel our clients have always commented on how friendly the staff are and what a warm welcome they receive.

Saariselkä New Year Programme for all ages
27 December 2008 – 2 January 2009
Day 1 - 27 December 2008
Depart UK to Ivalo then a short transfer by coach to Saariselkä. Collect your special thermal clothing.
An information meeting followed by dinner.
Day 2 - 28 December 2008
Following breakfast transfer to the husky farm where the excited husky teams are awaiting your arrival. For many of our previous clients this has been the highlight of their holiday. Whether in charge of a husky team or sitting in the sledge, there are opportunities to swap places, this is a truly magical experience. Once on their way the huskies become silent and you can hear the gentle sound of paws on snow and laughter of your party. Lunch in a cabin or forest restaurant punctuates the adventure.
Return to the resort.
An evening where you’re free to explore the resort and eat in one of its restaurants as a family or with new found friends.
Day 3 - 29 December 2008
Buffet breakfast. A day at leisure to enjoy this beautiful setting. Sign up for additional optional safaris, if feeling brave try the 1.2 km toboggan run or make your way to the nearby ski slopes.
If you have had enough of the snow take a swim in the nearby spa swimming pool (entrance not included), or arrange a soothing massage. Evening free.
Day 4 - 30 December 2008
Buffet breakfast. A free day so you can set the pace whether that is non-stop activities or curling up with a book.
Evening free to enjoy one of the resorts restaurants.
Day 5 - 31 December 2008
Buffet breakfast. Walk to the safari office from where, following instruction, with children tucked into sleighs, head off along a trail of powder snow on a snowmobile adventure. The trail leads over the fells allowing panoramic views before dropping down into the snow covered forest, stop along the way to toboggan. A hot lunch will be served during the safari.
Return to the hotel to relax in the fireside bar or to take a warming sauna.
A New Year Eve dinner in the hotel followed by fireworks in the resort.
Day 6 - 01 January 2009
A lazy day following the New Year celebrations. Possibly take a gentle forest walk or refreshing swim. The ski slopes are open or set off along cross country ski trails.

Day 7 - 02 January 2009
Breakfast followed by transferring by coach to Kittila airport. Non stop flight to London Gatwick.
