Just 25km from Rovaniemi, Arctic Hotel Pohtimo enjoys a wonderful location set deep in the forest overlooking its own lake. Whatever the season it is an excellent location for those wishing to make the most of their surroundings and to relax by the fire after a good meal in the evening.
Hiking, snowmobiling and crosscountry skiing trails start from the door. A husky farm can be found in the forest just across the lake and slopes ideal for tobogganing down are just metres from the hotel.

Summer Adventure
5 days / 4 nights 01 Jun – 30 Sep 2004

DAY 1 A flight from London Heathrow / Manchester via Helsinki to Rovaniemi. Transfer to Pohtimo.
Dinner and overnight.

DAY 2 Following breakfast a chance to explore your surroundings on a 2-3 hour mountain bike trip along the forest trails.
Afternoon at leisure.

DAY 3 The day at leisure for hiking, swimming in the hotels lake or, when the season allows, searching for berries and mushrooms.
Following dinner, making the most of the long summer days a midnight hiking trip to Karhunnulkki, approx 3km away to enjoy the views and a campfire snack.

DAY 4 Transfer by car to a nearby wilderness lake for some fishing.
Lunch and dinner at the hotel.

DAY 5 Buffet breakfast. Morning at leisure.
Following lunch, transfer to Rovaniemi for a flight via Helsinki to the UK.

Winter Adventure
5 days / 4 nights 13 Jan – April 2005

DAY 1 A flight from London Heathrow / Manchester via Helsinki to Rovaniemi. Transfer to Pohtimo.
Dinner and overnight.
DAY 2 Buffet breakfast. Once kitted out in safari clothing, following instruction and with children tucked into sleighs depart by snowmobile through the forest.
Your destination will be a small wilderness lake where you can enjoy the silence while trying your hand at ice fishing. Hopefully you will catch lunch. Return to Pohtimo for a warming sauna and dinner.

DAY 3 After hearty breakfast, a free day to play in the snow, make you way into Rovaniemi or take part in additional safaris (not included in the package).

DAY 4 In safari clothing walk through the forest to where the Siberian huskies are excitedly awaiting your arrival. After tuition on handling a sled by the experts it is time to go with one adult in charge of your sled and one or two people seated.
There are opportunities to swap along the way. The huskies are suddenly silent, now happy to be on their way allowing you to take in this exhilarating experience.

DAY 5 Buffet breakfast. Morning at leisure. Transfer to Rovaniemi for a flight via Helsinki to the UK.
