Hotel Jeris benefits from an idyllic setting, deep in the forest on the shores of Lake Jerisjarvi, nestled next to a national park.

 

The hotel has 24 twin / triple rooms or guests may choose to stay in the nearby individually furnished cabins that are set in the forest.

 

Enjoy meals in the hotels panoramic restaurant with stunning lake, forest and fell views or just unwind with drinks in front of an open fire or in the hotels bar.

 

After a day of exciting activities in the surrounding nature where better to relax than in the hotels lakeside spa. Rest in one of the hot spa pools, warm in a sauna or if feeling brave attempt a dip in the lake ice pool!

 

Jeris is ideal for those wishing to take part in activities, all conveniently close to the hotel, but also wanting some quality family time whether that be playing in the snow in the beautiful surroundings or curled up in front of an open fire playing games in a private cabin.

6 Day Christmas programme 23 - 28 December

 

DAY 2 - 24 December

Following a buffet breakfast get dressed in the safari clothing provided and head out with your guides.
Strap on snow shoes and head into the forest following the clues to find the perfect Christmas tree left by the elves on which to hang your Christmas wish note. As a reward for your hard work you can warm by a forest fire, melting marshmallows, while your guide tells us about the surrounding nature.
Then it’s down to the lake to meet a reindeer herder who will perform a welcome ceremony and take you on a short reindeer sled ride. If you can tear yourself away from the fun a hot hearty lunch is awaiting you.
Take part in snow and ice activities such as tandem skiing, ice fishing, snow hockey, and tobogganing.
You will also have an opportunity to learn how to drive a snowmobile, the experts will be on hand to offer advice at the snowmobile training school, and there is even a snowmobile for our youngest guests to try.
During the day you will be invited to take a ride across the lake in a snowmobile pulled sleigh in search of Santa. He will be resting in the forest and would love to meet you one family at a time to hear your Christmas wishes.
A traditional Finnish Christmas dinner, keep your eyes open for a very special guest bearing gifts for everyone!

 

DAY 3 - 25 December

Buffet breakfast.
A day at leisure where you set the pace and enjoy a lazy Christmas morning opening presents in front of the fire.
After lunch sign up for additional exhilarating safaris (not included in the package), relax in the hotels spa pools or explore this beautiful location toboggan in hand.
During the afternoon Christmas cookie baking for the children.
Christmas dinner.

 

DAY 4 - 26 December

Buffet breakfast.
Long before you get to them you will hear the excited huskies awaiting your arrival. The experts will take the time to explain how the dogs are trained and about their day to day life before showing you how to handle a husky team and sled. You will then be whisked off across the lake and into the forest for a husky sled ride. If we are lucky they may also bring some puppies along!
A tour of the husky farm and time to hear more about the life of the huskies.
Lunch in the hotel.
The afternoon at leisure.
Dinner in the hotel's lakeside Kammi restaurant.

 

DAY 5 - 27 December

Following breakfast it is time to put the experience from the snowmobile driving school into practise. Once the adults are settled on their snowmobiles and the children are tucked into sleighs it is time to set off on an exhilarating snowmobile safari through the forest and over the frozen lake.
Lunch in the hotel and the afternoon at leisure. A last chance to perfect your cross country skiing skills or to join additional optional safaris.

DAY 6 - 28 December

Buffet breakfast. Following lunch transfer to Kittila airport for the flight to London Gatwick.

Accommodation

	Hotel Jeris Hotel Rooms (1-3 people): Twin or Triple hotel rooms. Cabins (2-4 people): The cabins (36 m2) are located on the lakeshore approx. 5 minutes walk from the hotel. All are equipped with a bedroom with twin beds, lounge with small sofa bed, kitchenette, sauna, toilet, shower, fireplace, clothes drying cupboard and TV. The cabin is suitable for 2 adults and a child or 2 smaller children. Cabins (3-6 people): The cabins (63 m2 - 70 m2) are in a lovely setting in the forest approx 10 minutes walk from the hotel. All are well equipped with a lounge-kitchenette, sauna, toilet, shower, fireplace, cabinet dryer and TV. Cabins have one or two bedrooms and all have a loft with up to four mattress beds. Please note that the walk involves an incline of a couple of hundred metres. All hotel rooms are non smoking and have private facilities (toilet and shower).
