Lapland Day Visits
We are delighted to feature Lapland Day Visits from three locations, London Gatwick, Manchester and Leeds Bradford during December 2009. The day visits take place in a magical winter wonderland setting in the far north of Lapland. Experience snowmobile treks, reindeer sleigh rides, ice fishing, a ceremony to celebrate crossing the Arctic Circle and a husky sled ride. The highlight of the visit will be following a candle lit trail for a private family visit with Santa.

We operate year round to Finland and have a wealth of experience arranging Santa holidays to Lapland and Northern Finland, our Managing Director first visited Lapland in 1972 and has been instrumental in arranging visits and holidays ever since. In fact he has been acknowledged on several occasions by the Finnish Tourist Board the most recent for his quote “Fundamental and persistent work to bring people in touch with the real Finnish Christmas” This gives us an intimate knowledge of the resorts we feature and the expertise required to offer the Santa holidays featured on this web site.
The Emagine holiday style is fun, relaxed and low key and as many of our clients have noted we don’t do tacky ! or import strangely costumed characters to “dress” the Lapland experience.
We strongly believe in using the natural settings of our locations and the nature that surrounds them to offer a truly magical non-commercialised experience. “Understated professionalism” is another comment frequently used to describe the way our holiday arrangements are conducted in one of the world most exotic settings.
Our aim at Emagine is to ensure that all the activities we offer are not just of a high standard but also that the length of the activities will not leave you wanting , be careful and check as some operators offer a shorter duration for each activity such as snowmobile & husky to ensure a lower price, we suggest that you satisfy yourself fully on the length of these activities before booking.

How will we get around
Everyone loves the excitement of travelling through snow – especially when the experience is safe, warm and well organised. On your Santa holiday we’ll give you the opportunity to relish the romance of being pulled in a sleigh by reindeer – and even huskies or enjoy the exhilaration of driving a snowmobile. After all, why should Santa have all the fun?
Special memories
Everyone will have a special memory by the end of their Santa holiday, for some it will be the joy of seeing a child’s face light up when first seeing Santa Claus or it may be the shear excitement of whisking down a hillside on their toboggan or for those very lucky, a glimpse of the northern lights.
Departure airports
Our Santa holiday arrangements depart from London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester, plus a day visit from Leeds/Bradford.
Special considerations for a special destination
Christmas time in Finland is wonderful but winter conditions demand respect. Please make sure that you understand all the aspects of visiting Northern Finland at this time of year and read the section ‘Helpful Facts’ before making your reservation. Please note all activities outlined in our Santa holidays itineraries take place subject to suitable weather conditions, which are beyond our control. The order of the events of your itinerary may vary.

Catering for Children
Discount for one adult parties
For those parties travelling on a Santa holiday where only one adult is going to share with one or more children we would like to recommend Hotel Jeris in Muonio (rooms only) or Hotel Syöte Keskus in Syöte where single supplements do not apply.
Discount for Teenagers
As under 15’s are not allowed to drive a snowmobile (they will travel in snowmobile pulled sleighs) and probably can't handle a husky team we have negotiated a discount for teenagers 12 – 14 years old, please refer to price boxes for exact amounts.
Teenagers aged 15 – 18 years old should be able to sit behind an adult on a snowmobile, in all cases however the operating safari guide on the day will decide who can drive and who may not.
Infants and young children
Extreme weather conditions and our activity based itineraries have led us over the years to identify that Lapland and Northern Finland are not suitable destinations for infants and young children.
In short, we do not recommend that you bring children under 4 years on a Santa holiday to winter Finland.
The Snowkids
Even during the most enjoyable family holidays, adults like time on their own and that is exactly why we introduced our SnowKids activities at some of our hotels. SnowKids is not a children's club in the usual sense, we do not take charge of your children for an entire day, it is there so that when you arrive back from your day's activities it will give you a few hours to relax while your children can continue their Santa holiday excitement. SnowKids have a supervised and varied programme of activities leaving you the chance to unwind-undisturbed! Snowkids also functions when the temperatures are extreme and we feel it is unsafe for children to participate in certain outdoor activities.

Happy and hearty children's meals
While always welcome to have the same food as the adults we also cater for the more refined tastes of our young guests with a special menu at dinner with dishes such as meatballs, sausages and chips etc.
Safaris
Safari organisers hold the driver of a snowmobile responsible in case of any damage to the vehicle for the first €550, therefore we would advise that extra care is required when driving a snowmobile.
We would also ask you to note that in Finland the same drink and driving regulations that apply to cars also apply to snowmobiles. It is an exact limit of 0.5% alcohol in the blood. Please be aware that at times police do stop and breathalyse snowmobile drivers and penalties do apply.
Guests who drive a snowmobile may be asked to produce a valid driving licence so please remember to take your licence with you!
