Hotel Riekonlinna Saariselkä
This pretty hotel is located in the centre of the picturesque winter resort of Saariselkä, within easy reach of the resorts many amenities including the nearby toboggan slope. Hotel Riekonlinna has a popular fireside bar in which to relax after an exciting day and restaurants including Emagine's private dinner restaurant. Facilities include saunas, a small childrens play area with ball pool, a masseur and free toboggans. Throughout the many years of featuring this hotel our clients have always commented on how friendly the staff are and what a warm welcome the children receive.

5 Day itinerary
DAY 1
Depart from London to Ivalo. A short transfer by coach to Hotel Riekonlinna. Collect special thermal clothing. An information meeting followed by dinner.
DAY 2
Following breakfast journey by coach through the forest to the reindeer farm. Learn about the life of a reindeer herder in Lapland and enjoy a short reindeer sleigh ride before receiving your reindeer driving licence. The reindeer herder will also perform the special ceremony to celebrate Crossing the Arctic Circle. Try your hand at ice-fishing, you may even catch lunch! Take part in a variety of unique Arctic activities such as tandem skiing, reindeer lassoing, and mini snowmobiling. Lunch will be served in a lakeside cabin. From here each family goes in search of Santa by following a candle-lit trail through the forest in a sleigh pulled by a snowmobile. Santa will be found resting in the forest and he has promised to hear everyone’s Christmas wishes. Return to the hotel by coach.
Free time for a relaxing sauna or to just swap stories of the days adventures in the bar. The children can head for kids club to join in the activities. Dinner. The energetic may want to walk over to nearby slopes, toboggan in hand, while keeping their eyes open for the Northern Lights.
DAY 3
Buffet breakfast. Following instruction depart, on an exhilarating snowmobile safari over the fells and through the forest. Children will be safely tucked into snowmobile pulled sleighs that are driven by the safari guides. Stop in a traditional kota or forest restaurant where a hot lunch will be served.
After lunch you will hear the excited barking of Siberian huskies waiting to whisk you off on a sledge safari across the white icy expanse and along the long forest trail back to the husky farm.
Snowkids club and free time for the adults. An evening where you’re free to explore the resort and eat in one of it’s restaurants as a family or with new found friends.
DAY 4
Buffet breakfast. The day at leisure to explore this winter wonderland. Some may choose to test their skills on the nearby ski slopes, take a swim in the resorts pool (entrance fee applies) or to join one of the optional safaris (to be booked and paid locally) while others may just want to put their feet up with a book and take in the wonderful views.
Of course there is always that invigorating toboggan run just around the corner that is always popular with our guests
That afternoon at Snowkids club the children will be asked to help with the cookie baking.
We round off the evening with a farewell traditional Finnish Christmas dinner. And of course, you never know who might just arrive – unannounced.
DAY 5
Breakfast. A final chance to explore. Following lunch transfer by coach to Ivalo airport for a non-stop flight to London Gatwick.
