Syöte Hotels
The Syöte hotels are a real hit with families due to their informal, relaxed atmosphere and wide range of accommodation. Both hotels command wonderful fell top locations and easy access to the beautiful surrounding nature.They really are in the middle of nowhere, with the nearest town over 30km, so if you have shopping or clubbing in mind this isn't the place for you, but those in search of a true winter wonderland will be delighted.
Hotel Syöte Keskus
You are guaranteed a friendly welcome to this lovely hotel in its stunning fell top location. The hotel offers an excellent range of hotel accommodation with wonderful views including spacious family rooms. After a day of winter activities, relax in the cosy new bar while the children make the most of the exciting playrooms featuring excellent arts and crafts, climbing walls and a sports hall. It also offers easy access for tobogganing, safaris and nearby ski slopes outside. A unique feature of the hotel is the observatory from which, weather permitting, you can enjoy star gazing and the Aurora Borealis.

5 Day itinerary
DAY 1
Depart Luton and Manchester to Kuusamo. Transfer by private coach to Syote. Collect thermal clothing. An information meeting followed by dinner.
DAY 2
Following breakfast, transfer by coach into the forest where a reindeer herder will be waiting to tell you about reindeer husbandry and take you on a short reindeer ride to qualify for a unique driving licence. The reindeer herder will perform a traditional welcome ceremony. After lunch in a wooden kota take part in a host of enjoyable winter activities such as tandem skiing, ice fishing, mini-snowmobiling and snowmobile circuits. In a reindeer pulled sleigh follow a candle lit trail laid by the elves to a nearby cabin where Santa will be resting. He has promised that he will make time to hear all your Christmas wishes.
Return to the hotel for a relaxing sauna, head to Snowkids club or go tobogganing.
Dinner.
DAY 3
Buffet breakfast. The day will start with meeting the excited husky teams. You will be shown some basic commands before putting the theory into practise heading off on a short husky sledge ride in charge of your own team or seated in the husky pulled sledge.
Return to the hotel in time for lunch.
The afternoon will start with instruction on how to handle a snowmobile. Once the children are tucked into snowmobile pulled sleighs you will depart on a snowmobile safari through the beautiful snowcovered forest. A stop will be made along the way to warm by a fire and enjoy a hot drink. The return journey after dark, is wondrous – through the forest lit only by snowmobile lights reflecting off the snowcovered trees, and frost particles in the air sparkling like glitter.
A relaxing sauna awaits your return to the hotel.
Dinner and a chance to visit the observatory.
DAY 4
Buffet breakfast. A day at leisure to try some skiing on the nearby slopes, tobogganing or additional activities.
At Snowkids club the children can help with the Christmas cookie baking.
A traditional Finnish Christmas dinner will be served in the hotels restaurant followed by a disco.
Of course you will need to keep your eyes open for a special guest!
DAY 5
A morning at leisure. Following lunch transfer to Kuusamo for the flight back to Manchester and Luton.
