Simply Saariselkä
We are aware that there are those who wish to experience Saariselka but want greater flexibility with their time and are willing to forgo some of the benefits of our more inclusive holiday arrangements such as full board, Snow kids activities and being fully escorted. With this in mind we have created “Simply Saariselka” which as the name implies is a basic package but still includes a personal meeting with Santa during an exciting Arctic Activity day.
This then allows you to choose and design your own level of activity in your free time whether it be to go tobogganing, try skiing, or book from our exhilarating range of optional activities. It also allows you the freedom as a family to choose where to dine for some meals: whether that be taking up the hotels half board option or exploring the resorts excellent restaurants.

Holiday Club Saariselkä
Holiday Club Saariselkä is located at the heart of Saariselkä allowing easy access to the resorts facilities and restaurants. Hotel facilities include restaurants and bars, lobby bar and a popular spa swimming pool with slides, wave machine, saunas and jacuzzis.
Guests can book a range of spa treatments locally such a massages and mud treatments. Holiday Club has the resorts best facilities for those with disabilities with access to nearly all areas, including the pool.
Accommodation
Family room 1-4 people: 2 single beds and a 140cm wide sofa bed.
All rooms have private facilities, Satellite TV, drying cupboard, hairdryer and bathrobes for adults.

4 Day itinerary
DAY 1
Depart London Gatwick to Ivalo. A short transfer by coach to Holiday Club Saariselkä. Collect special thermal clothing and your guide will point out the resort facilities such as restaurants, toboggan slope and shops.
DAY 2
Following breakfast journey by coach through the forest to the home of a reindeer herder. Upon arrival the reindeer herder will perform the special ceremony to celebrate Crossing the Arctic Circle. He has rounded up just a few of his reindeer that roam free in the forest so you can enjoy a short reindeer sleigh ride before receiving your reindeer driving licence.
On the nearby lake try a variety of unique Arctic activities such as tandem skiing, reindeer lassoing, ice fishing and mini snowmobiling. A simple hot lunch will be served in a cabin. From here each family goes in search of Santa by following a candle-lit trail through the forest in a sleigh pulled by a snowmobile. Santa will be found resting in the forest and he has promised to hear everyone’s Christmas wishes. Return to the hotel by coach.
DAY 3
Buffet breakfast. A day at leisure to explore this winter wonderland. Head off to the nearby toboggan slope, hop on the ski bus to try out the ski slopes or relax in the hotels spa swimming pool. Activities such as cross country skiing, husky and snowmobile safaris can be arranged, for details see list below.
Others may choose to take a walk through snow covered forests and enjoy a leisurely lunch in the fell top restaurant taking in the panoramic views.
A traditional Finnish Christmas dinner and a visit by Santa.
DAY 4
Buffet breakfast. The morning at leisure. A departure from Ivalo for a non stop flight to London Gatwick.
