Canoe & Inspection Trolley - 2 nights / 3 days - Dalsland
You will find the small town of Bengtsfors in the centre of Dalsland in the north of the region set in beautiful countryside. The hotel is very simple although all rooms have private facilities.
DAY 1 Arrive in Bengtsfors during the afternoon. Free time to explore and follow one of the hiking trails around the lake. Overnight accommodation at Hotel Hemgården.
DAY 2 Following breakfast you head off at your own pace along the old unused rail roads on an inspection trolley that is pedal powered. The lines pass by lakes and through the forest to areas beyond the reach of cars. Return to Hotel Hemgården to overnight.
DAY 3 Following breakfast you will be provided with a packed lunch and canoe so you can spend the day exploring the network of lakes. Depart Bengtsfors.
2 night package includes: 2 night accommodation based on sharing a twin room, 2 lunches, inspection trolley excursion, one days canoe rental.

Extend your stay in Dalsland
It is possible to extend your stay over-nighting in the hotel or to take off in a canoe, over-nighting in campsites, along one of the many canoe trails.
Equipment such as tents and sleeping bags can be rented locally, if required. We are happy to pre-book them for you. A Nature Conservation card covers the cost of using the established camping grounds within the lake system. When renting a canoe the Nature card is available at a special price of SEK20 per person per night. Excellent maps highlighting canoeing trails are available locally.

Cycling in Västergötland - 3 nights / 4 days
The pretty, small town of Ulricehamn sits on the shores of Lake Åsunden an hour east of Gothenburg.
It offers wonderful views, interesting shops, welcoming cafes and easy access to the beautiful surrounding nature. It is ideal for cycling as the decline of the railways saw the tracks being transformed into cycle paths creating an extensive network and when combined with the quiet country roads the options to explore are never ending.
As well as adult bikes a number of options are available for children: small bikes for age 7 plus, tag-ons, child seats and trailers.
DAY 1 Arrive mid afternoon in Ulricehamn. Free time to explore. Overnight Hotel Bogesund in twin or family rooms with private facilities.
DAY 2 Following breakfast walk to the cycle centre located in front of the hotel. Collect your bikes helmet, map, packed lunch. You will need to take a small overnight pack. Set off along the paths following the lake and then through the forest, stopping to swim or to eat lunch along the way.
The final destination is Årås Mill which today is a very unusual hostel set deep in the forest between two lakes. Cycling distance approx. 30 km. The old mill really is idyllic with a stream running through the grounds. Accommodation is in pretty twin or family rooms (there are only 8), showers and toilets are on each floor. A Self cook barbecue dinner.
DAY 3 Breakfast. Back on the bikes but this time taking a different route along the quiet country lanes and through tranquil villages meandering back to Ulricehamn. Overnight Hotel Bogesund.
DAY 4 Breakfast. You have the choice of cycling, there are many more trails to explore, or for a change take a canoe and explore the lake.
Depart Ulricehamn late afternoon.
