Exploring West Sweden
We think there are so many great places to stay in the region that we thought we would tell you more about them and let you plan your own fly drive itinerary, setting your own pace.
At several locations it will be necessary to park your car on the mainland and hop on a small ferry to take you on a short journey through the archipelago to your hotel.
Driving is a pleasure with routes well signposted although figuring out the car ferry (some taking you just a couple of hundred metres) protocol can be amusing, if only for the locals!
Those hotels that are considered to have an exceptional reputation for their food, be it haute cuisine or simple home-cooked fayre, have a chef’s hat next to their name, and where appropriate we have highlighted activities available in the area.

Car Rental Rules
The price includes Unlimited mileage, CDR (Collision damage reduction), TP (theft protection), APS (airport service charge), local tax. CDR is included and reduces the excess to SEK2500 for cars. One additional driver is included. Drivers must be over 21 years old. A delivery fee applies if pickup is outside of Hertz office hours (as a rule after 17.00 hrs midweek and all day Sat and Sun, excluding airports in Stockholm and Gothenburg.) A credit card number must be given at time of booking. One way rental prices available upon request (not available for weekend specials)
